Steward was built one relationship at a time. With curiosity, grit, and commitment to do things the right way.
Sky found his way into a meeting with one of the region’s most respected developers—not by waiting his turn, but by finding a creative way past the gatekeeper. Eager to learn, he offered to work for free. After a long pause, the developer told Sky the didn’t have a place for him—but offered a piece of advice: go become a commercial real estate agent and learn the business. Sky took the advice to heart, and it set everything in motion.
For years, Sky had been trying to convince Brad to make the leap with him, insisting, “You’ll make more money and you’ll have more fun.” Brad was working as a structural engineer with no background in sales or real estate. But Sky knew what mattered: Brad had the work ethic, integrity, and long-term vision to be the kind of partner you could build something great with. Eventually, Brad took the leap—and the partnership began.
After building a successful commercial real estate brokerage and experimenting with small development ventures, Sky and Brad decided it was time to go all in. They canceled their licenses, stepped away from brokerage entirely, and embraced development full-time. Bootstrapping their early deals, they turned a scrappy beginning into a real, thriving development company.
With momentum building, Sky and Brad brought in a “systems guy”, Mormon to help scale operations and build the infrastructure for long-term growth., and they're not looking back. Today, Steward is a 10-person team—and growing—on its way to becoming a major player in Utah and Idaho. The mission is clear: move the needle on the housing gap, improve affordability, and deliver communities that matter.
